Summer's Done; Fall's Begun

Stash Dash 2019 wrapped up last night. It was a race to the finish of 7km for me, complete with forgetting that I had a project that I should have just *finished* rather than casting on and completing two brand new projects in the span of 24 hours.

A few things you've already seen: two of the big shawls (the one that looks like a giant butterfly and the Giant Asymmetrical one I made for AudioGirl) and two of the pair of socks that are complete

There's only another... 15 projects to show you.

Let's do hats today, shall we? You saw a couple of these in progress before,  but I finished a total of 5 hats.

Here are the first four. All adult sized hats. One had a specific recipient in mind, two may go into fall rotation for me and then there is that bright green one.

This fall toned one is from Lisa Souza yarn and it's been languishing on the needles for a few months.  The pattern is Sockhead and this still needs to be blocked. The yarn is Merino but it's a bit crunchy; I am hoping it will soften up a bit.  I still have about half a skein of this yarn for matching mitts.

And this is the Public Cervix Announcement from Oink Pigments on the bulky base. This was a super fast knit up and reinforced to me that I really do want size 9-11 needles in fixed 16" circulars.  I have remedied that lack in my needle stash, though of course now I don't really have any bulky yarn  to knit into hats.  The pattern, Gather at the Pyramid, is very easy to read, though I did the initial ribbing on size 9 (5.5mm) needles before going up to an 11 (8 mm) for the rest of the hat. I dislike the looseness of larger hats where you don't go down a needle size or two for the ribbing.

These next two, you saw before, they've just been closed up on top and the Italian yarn  hat got  a pom pom.

And then finally, this wee little hat from BMFA Socks That Rock Heavyweight.  It was my final yardage for Stash Dash -- just enough to carry me over the 7km.

There is nothing *quite* like wrapping up with less than an hour to post and claim all of your meterage, but I did it. Today I've knit about 100 total stitches so far; my hands are tired but also still trying to auto-knit.

A Redo

I started this pair of socks on New Years Eve just before 2020. I finished them in May 2020 , amidst a lot of optimism about what I'd a...
