I have two of the four pairs of socks shown last week Off the Needles! They are now just socks. And both pairs were long standing ones, so it's an extra pleasure. Hooray for the functionality of Stash Dash getting lethargic projects completed!
First up are these men's size medium socks, knit on size 1 needles even though it's STR Medium weight. I thought my gauge had loosened enough to allow for this, some rather intense hand cramps this week suggest it has not and I should stick to 1.5 needles (2.5mm) for sport weight socks.
Second are socks that have been on the needles almost a full three years! These began life as Work Knitting socks in October of 2016. I was trying the Yarn Harlot's trick of having a pair of desk-knitting-socks, and I was absolutely sure that I would be able to pretty quickly knock out this pair. I should have recognized when I shoved them into a drawer that progress was pretty stalled.
Fortunately, this spring I remembered them when headed into an all day retreat and finally got the stitches rolling again. This is my last Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze Peppino presently in the stash. I will have to consider buying more in the future; the colors are amazing but this light a fingering weight yarn takes forever. Maybe once there's a bit more of a stash dent made.
I even wove in the ends on both pairs! They just need a bath and they are absolutely done!! Two project bags reclaimed! Whatever will I do with my needles?
Oh right...I still have two pair of socks going.
There was progress on both of those-- I'm two inches into the cuff on Sock 2 of the Cattywampus rainbow socks. And I finished Sock 1 of the Black raven clan socks and I'm working down the foot of Sock 2. So I have approximately 1.5 more sock to have 4 complete pairs.
Doable.
Onwards!
