Hedgehog Knitting: Happy Birthday Gypsy and Happy Decade Gotcha-Day

Various social media networks remind me that today is a decade of a certain #smallgraycat.

Somewhere, I think sadly lost to time, is the phone photo that I took of her at the shelter, just before leaving her overnight so they could verify with my landlord that I could have a cat and so I had time to buy a carrier and litter.

Gypsy had been at the Humane Society for four months -- long enough for her kittens to be weaned and the fur on her belly post-spaying to have grown back. She was a delightfully social cat who really wanted attention -- and I needed something more than my houseplants.

In that time we've moved twice and I've significantly upgraded the cameras I have to take endless pictures of her, a good thing as she's incredibly photogenic. She has a preferred hashtag on Instagram (#smallgraycat), though she isn't allowed her own account yet. Her favorite toys are her Yellow Fish kickstick and dangling ribbons. Favorite snoozing places include in laundry hampers, on the loft (Pyewacket can't reach her there), and in her window hammock.

She's ~12 now and in rollicking good health. I got thoroughly chewed out last night after arriving home from a few days away but even that seems to have been forgiven.
