Cotton Replacements

Over a decade ago, AudioGirl tried to teach me to crochet again.  She's tried several times and each time I pick up one more little factoid for a half-minute and then the knowledge fades away again. I'm not sure I've ever successfully executed a granny square, for all the hundreds of hours that I've knit log cabins.

But one particular project did stick for a while: grocery/reusable bags. I've made a couple dozen of them, mostly gifted and hopefully used into tatters. The tatters part is important -- one of mine split a major strand the other day and I realized I'm down to only a couple.

Combine that with a Black Friday sale, the need for some specific cotton blend yarn for a certain designated Christmas project and... oh look: cotton.  It's not a small amount either, I got about 12 skeins and my hands are practically itching to start on them.

This is the much less exciting cotton yarn, part of which actually needs to be used up post-haste to meet delivery deadlines.  It's not the SHINY MULTI COLORED COTTON.

One part solid magpie, that's me.  Now if I could just talk me into finishing the wash cloth on the needles and using up the 1lb cone of cotton that was already here.  (Yes, I roll my eyes at me too sometimes)
